Our “main” schoolroom lives at the top of our stairs in our loft space. I like that Z always has access to it as she often plays in there with the manipulatives.
We furnished most of the room at IKEA.
It is actually a dining room table because there wasn’t a desk that worked in our space. The best parts of this table are it cleans up really well with cleaning spray and it fits the two of us perfectly with lots of room to work. I can’t find the exact desk shelf that we have but if you used these legs and a shelf, it would most likely work the same.
TROFAST ($39.99) + bins range from $3 to $5 a piece.
I liked this because of the bins that slide easily in and out. The buckets are perfect for storing the manipulatives and they can easily be brought over to the table when we are using them.
This might just be my favorite IKEA find ever. These drawers are perfect for supplies and paper. I am thinking about getting another one for my side of the table.
Rug: LABRORG ($19.99)
I got this to protect the carpet. I wanted Z to feel free to make a mess just like she would be able to in a preschool. It works.
We also use our tabletop easel quite a bit. This particular one isn’t available anymore but this one looks exactly like it for half the price. It has a chalkboard on one side and a whiteboard of the other. I love these whiteboard markers for Z. I have successfully washed them out of furniture, carpet and many items of clothes.
They don’t seem to make these Fairies in the Garden Alphabet Wall Cards anymore but the same company does make some other sets. The quality of these cards are wonderful and the artwork is stunning. I can only assume the other sets are as well.
